October 12, 2014 — words on a blackboard
But we only…
Leaves rolling on the streets in light
Thoughts sinking in the void inside
Birds painting on the skies with shades and songs
But we only hear the beats of our noisy hearts,
Wishing that the sun could knock on our door and lock itself inside.
Whispers filling our minds
People playing all their cards
Wind putting autumn in a scent and wrapping us around
But we only see how dreams are leaving our side,
And we bend and wish that hope will take the place of our sight.
Windows gazing at the clouds
Raindrops playing on the glass
Children laughing as they hide in us
But we only feel our eyes closing as if it was night,
And we sleep and wish that love will sneak
And make us smile when the morning gleams.
Very beautiful! I love the metaphors and the image you create!

Your use of language is truly beautiful and powerful. I especially love the line about children hiding in us.

Love will sneak
In the void inside,
Wrapping us around
In light
When the morning gleams.
But we only hear dreams closing our hearts,
Leaving our side as if it was night… 😉

Very nice image to accompany your lovely words. Autumn….I like Autumn. There is warmth in your heart, in your words. I like the privacy of your poem, the small moments, the intimacy of it.

Your work is great. I love a lot of the imagery and wording. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit envious that some of your stuff isn’t mine

You have some recurrent images from the environment, such as birds, plants, the weather, day and night. The type of nature you can get in contact from living in a city. Is it so or am I reading it too much? I like animals too, they are never just them, they are always us. Have you ever thought about how distant we are from real nature and what it means to us as a species?

You are right… I guess this distance is alienating…
