Falling chairs
We walk on falling chairs. We lose any way back.
We grab new hopes. We fill the spaces left in us.
We stretch our dreams in moon light. We find paths.
We run towards the empty skies. We leave a part of ourselves behind.
We fall and grasp the barren grounds. We deny chances that were right.
We fight the voices echoing in wisdom or in dark. We stop and step aside.
We rummage in the drawers of the past. We close our eyes.
We stir the fire when we fear. We dip in waters that are still.
We quit with every day. We think again.
We find nothing when we wait. We write the play.
We reach a way. We let the sun crest our wish as if it was a peak.
We venture east. We try, we freeze.
We jump. We wink. Now there’s no choice but to believe.
Great work, not sure which one I like best. Easy to answer that. I like them all.

this is great! very thought provoking and stirring. May I ask what the message is behind it, or is it supposed to be a mystery?

I could believe… That may be true…
But who is “we” – I’m asking you…? π

π we… maybe the people who belong in what I write, who feel the same and empathize

… or maybe just we, humans, each and every one of us in our own ways… π
There’s so much depth in your thoughts, allowing one’s imagination to run wild. Thank you for that! π

This reminded me of a recurring dream I had years ago when I was in a very stressful job. Nicely expressed.

Aargh, the agonies we put ourselves through in pursuit of happiness! An uncomfortable, disturbing poem, but fascinating.

Lovely! It works whether I read it right to left, right side down, or left side down! (I didn’t try reading up the right and left sides, yet.) Nothing left but to believe. I identify with any number of lines–but especially the line about leaving bits and pieces of ourselves behind. I usually think of this as negative (for me), but maybe it could also be positive now and again. Thanks for the follow today! I’m delighted to meet you in your writing.
