Insanity

3bb755aaee00920a1704f8f2075d2ce6

The sky has drowned in black
No stars, no moon, no light to guide
I cease to seek the signs of hope. I know…
Insanity is in my dream.
Yet, I stare at my broken wing.

The mind has covered with a veil
Illusions, clarity, confusions scattered as annoying rumours
I cease to listen for the clues. I know…
Insanity has owned my soul.
Yet, I fear the vagaries of my beliefs.

The day has spread my memories in a desolate swing
No music, no desire, no colour to sneak in
I cease to hide the truth that lies in front of me. I know…
Insanity has charmed my heart’s goal.
Yet, I cast out the remedy. The abyss hoaxed me in.

This one is also among the beautiful lines in this poem. Forsaken all efforts. Insanely relaxed. Beautifully dejected and dejectedly beautiful.

  10. You know a poem with a gray cloud is a good one, when the reader laments and prays that your broken wing may be healed.

I often wonder if poets always feel and see what is in their poetry because it is at least somewhat their truth. Or whether they can be like fiction writers and create an experience completely unrelated to themselves.

Either way, it’s a very deep and moving piece.

  14. Such a powerful poem! I hope this is a metaphor and you don’t feel this way, but if you do, have hope. You are creative and your sadness will erase with each poem you write. ❤

  19. Dark, broken wing, no hope… It’s almost like Van Gogh in poetry.

  20. A truly wonderful piece, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Even the imagery that got passed me, left a warm spot in my soul, and a promise to return as my understanding increased. Read you later.
