Contradiction

0c5e0870ece28267694b9d06b7c98e7b

Time lingers at the edge of our hearts
It stops, it breaks into a furious rush
The seconds breathe in all the illusions we hatch
And they leave in us just a blank world we have to hide,
But the sunset still carries its faded light
On the horizon, days only end to let new ones snuggle in the spring of our thoughts.
Chimeras throb in a corner of our souls
They are toys or ravines that hoax our forlorn hopes,
But sleepless minds draw light over delusive nights and overlook the steps that go astray
They will never cease to pray for moments that dash in our pulse and steal the time as if it is air
We dress in struggles to pretend we don’t abandon our fights
We wear our insides as cloaks that keep the rain and wind away
We summon our eyes to blindness, we entrust ourselves to foreign stars
We harass any chance we’ve got,
Cause in a placid world, we are the only ones to play with storms
We gloat over black despair, we revel when we own the faith
Cause the greatest fear is to have nothing at all to feel.
Contradiction dances in the essence of our beings.

  5. Powerful poem, the first line “Time lingers at the edge of our hearts…” is so true, only to be outdone with your last “Contradiction dances in the essence of our beings.” All of which makes our life what it is. Beautiful.

  12. Your transition in your words from thoughts to feeling is seamless, you have a gift. The way you write never breaks, how the reader embraces the feelings a messages that are entwined within the sentences. It’s as though as your eye meet each new sentence, you meet new meaning and spend a single moment in it’s company, until you finally leave to reach the next line…
This is the type of writing I love to discover. It’s fills me with wonder, and admiration.
    Thankyou 🙂
