Words as birds, spread wings and let the caged souls fly
Imagination as a devil in disguise sets us traps of joy that hide an abyss with no moonlight
Time running as a mouse for its life, leaving us dazzled by its wilderness
Untamed moments, untamed hearts crushing as cars in high speed accidents
Loss and gain never walking other than hand in hand
Silence and the loudest noise, distracting a powerless mind caught in a self-made world
Paradise wearing the clothes of a bagger, laughing at our incapacity to spot its wonder
Clowns making us waste our time, betting all our hopes on a circus that will soon leave the town
Rivers running from the source, thinking freedom is what they got, when the banks surround them all
A whistle calling us to play the game of life
And we chase tirelessly for another heart when a mirror is what we want
And we swing in the wind and let others pull the trick
And we dig holes when a castle in the air is what we dream of
And we stare at days and nights, trying to learn there is no light without its dark
And we walk in this journey with no one but a shadow we pretend is not our own.

Yes, all of it true…glad to see you tackle meaty concepts.
You might consider ending the poem w/ “shadow we pretend is not our own.” Also, you can delete the word “for” at the end of the thirteenth line.
